Le trillon

just around the corner from the boulangerie!!

Le Trillon is the name of our new rampart tower in Vinsobres. It is over 800 years old and hasn't seen much daylight for over one hundred years. The windows were all filled in with stones and it has been used as a pigeonaire as well as a place for breeding prize-winning French rabbits. Prior to that it had been a silkworm factory, and even further back, the rampart corner of the ancient village wall.

The renovations were held up over the long cold winter months which were very wet and quite a lot of snow fell as well. However as you can see from the photos below, work is progressing. We hope to have it available for rental by the second half of the year. Le Trillon will have two bedrooms, one in the downstairs room with an en-suite bathroom, and one up in the combles of the tower. There will also be a second shower room upstairs. The lounge leads into the kitchen which is situated in the tower. There will also be a small, private terrace out the back, next to the escalier. Either side of Le Trillon there are walkways, one covered walkway leading up to the Boulangerie, and the other leading up the staircase to the top of the village. There is ample parking just outside the door.
